Students and faculty at Seoul National University (SNU) are challenging stereotypes and eliminating biases in various fields, including science and technology, art, and the humanities. This issue includes stories of individuals challenging themselves with innovative research and activities for a better future.
Meekyoung Shin is a South Korean sculptor who graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture at Seoul National University College of Fine Arts. Meekyoung continued her
studies in sculpture at Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. Her art mainly comprises soap sculptures and has gained attention in domestic and overseas art spheres.
Based in the United Kingdom for nearly 30 years, her art has uniquely been characterized by carving, pasting, melting, and kneading soap.
